CHAIR - SCOTT GWINN, CPP
Scott Gwinn is an Assistant Account Manager for Allied Universal at B. Braun Medical USA. He is based at the Allentown manufacturing facility where he directly oversees security operations for the Lehigh Valley. Scott is actively working on physical security, crisis management, risk assessment, business continuity and several other long range projects that will help protect and serve B. Braun employees and neighbors across North America.
Scott transitioned into private security after serving over 26 years in municipal law enforcement. After honorably serving in the United States Navy, he returned to New Jersey and started off as a police dispatcher. Over two and a half decades later he retired as a sergeant from the Plainfield Police Division. He brings a wealth of knowledge with him after spending many years in patrol and also commanding several special units such as the Fatal Traffic Unit, the Motor Unit and the 911/CCTV/Special Operations Center. He also served as the division Grants Manager for several years successfully securing over $500k in grants and completing numerous upgrade projects.
Scott resides with his wife and two children in Stewartsville, NJ. He coaches several youth sports but focuses on basketball and lacrosse with the South Parkland Youth Association.
VICE CHAIR - CHARLIE THIEL, CPP
Charlie Thiel is the founder of Thiel Strategic, a security consulting firm based in Allentown, PA. Thiel Strategic partners with organizations to identify gaps between security silos (including IT, physical security, and something else) and to address those gaps by synthesizing policy, people, and technology into an aligned and effective security program.
Charlie moved into the security industry after an early career as a social worker and minister. He transitioned to the security industry through security integration, progressing through roles as Project Manager, Operations Manager, General Manager and eventually Business Development. His work in this industry has always been driven by a desire to represent his clients’ best interests and to exceed their expectations at every turn.
Charlie loves his city, Allentown, Pa, so much that it seems like he is addicted to public service. He is currently serving as President of the Allentown School Board, and previously served as Chair of the Chamber of Commerce and the Allentown School District Foundation Board.
TREASURER - EMILY SCHENKEL
Emily Root Schenkel is an Account Manager at Communication Systems Integrators, LLC (CSi) based in Allentown. Emily works with enterprise level clients to secure the places people live, work, learn and play. She actively works to understand the needs of her clients and how security solutions can support and enhance safety policies and procedures. Emily has been with CSi since 2006. Emily is currently studying to achieve her PSP certification. Emily serves on the Families of Flight 93 Executive Board, the Thomas Jefferson PTO and is a founding member of the BASD Proud Parents (a Public Education Advocacy Group). She is also a youth soccer and basketball coach. Emily lives in Bethlehem with her husband and two children.

MILITARY LIAISON - MICHAEL KOSTALIS
Michael served in the United States Marine Corps for over 24 years. He served in combat for two tours in the War on Terror (OIF-2.2 & 9.2) and also deployed to Ukraine supporting a NATO exercise. His last deployment was in the billet of Squadron Safety Officer & AT/FP (Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection) chief. Michael also served as their Commands Catholic Lay Leader. During his career he has held many MOS's, including Motor Transportation, Food Service, S-4 Chief, Safety & HAZMAT Chief. His last billet was Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Command. His duty was to ensure the junior Marines got the proper guidance on all military issues and if needed, assistance with their personal issues.
He continues to serve as a Senior NCO for mentoring the US Army's ROTC program (Lehigh Valley's Steel Battalion) guide on military life and spends an extensive amount of time with the Cadets. Michael's personal awards: Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Navy Unit Commendation Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation (2) Operation Iraqi Freedom Campaign Medal (2) Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Medal (extensive volunteer time in the community) Currently holding the post of Security Site Supervisor for Allied Universal at US Cold Storage. He is also OSHA certified, a member of the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce, and the Reserve Staff Non-Commissioned Officers Association.
